A perennial legume which makes a great forage for deer, turkey or waterfowl (doves, ducks, quail, etc.) in harsh conditions. They can eat the foliage or seed. It is slow to establish but once established it is persistent and tolerates browsing.

Type of Soil: It is tolerant of acidic, poorly drained soils. It is salt tolerant but not adaptable to the Deep South
