Buckwheat produces a good supply of seed in approximately 70 days. It is an extremely early maturing seed with yields in as little as 7-10 weeks after germination. It is well suited for any type of soil. The plant will make clusters of small white flowers forming triangular shaped black seeds. The seed is sturdy and remains on the stalk which provides seed for turkey and other game birds throughout the summer months. Mow mature seed heads for reseeding in mid-summer. A good seed for deer, turkey or waterfowl (doves, ducks, quail, etc.)
